Electricity Supply Agreement

Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, President, JNPT, said: “This agreement resolves once and for all the legalised electricity distribution process and will help JNPT meet its obligations to its stakeholders, and we are grateful to the MSEDCL team for their support.” The African Development Bank Group`s Desert to Power initiative, which aims to build the world`s largest solar zone in Africa`s Sahel, has eleven countries, including Nigeria. According to Adesina, the project is expected to provide electricity to 250 million people while creating unprecedented investment opportunities worth more than $20 billion. At the signing of the agreement at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr Olalere Odusote, said the aim of the agreement was to increase the supply of electricity to at least 22 hours a day, from about eight to twelve hours a day.
